Introduction / When users interact they are presented with an introduction and 5 theme buttons.
Theme Intro / Touching a theme button highlights cities related to that theme. Context is provided with a short introduction.
City Info / Tapping a city brings up further information and imagery specific to that city.
The table works so that up to 6 people can access information
at any one time, without their choices affecting other users’ interaction.
Visitors can select from five themes, representing the developments that helped unite the vast region. These developments are: currency and trade, language,
paper-making, education system and communication.
Each theme has a colour, the hotspots on the map have the same colour. Tapping on a hotspot reveals further detail. Information is displayed on top of the map.
Once in use the screen is effectively cut in half horizontally. Indivdual users can interact with ‘their’ own map. A panel appears that allows access to all the themes. All themes are accessible by pressing the theme icons.
